Working System

TEAM WORKING

Under our basic working system, each client’s case is handled by a team of attorneys who work together in an effective and active manner. Every case is carefully examined and thoroughly discussed by the team to find the optimal solution and respond to the client in minute detail. This team working approach enables clients to easily get in contact with any of their attorneys handling their case on the same team, so that no client is forced to wait due to absence of some attorney, especially in time of urgency. This system also has the significant benefit of combining the expertise of a number of skilled attorneys, thereby focusing the accumulated knowledge and experience of the team members on solving clients’ problems.

INTENSIVE AND FLEXIBLE WORKING SYSTEM

For a particularly complicated or large-scale project, we form a larger team in which a greater number of attorneys intensively work together on the same project in order to ensure high-quality legal services. For urgent matters, such as provisional remedies, insolvency proceedings, and due diligence activities in M&A projects and corporate restructuring, we regularly form intensive teams in which a number of attorneys work together sharing the roles in a flexible and efficient manner, so as to achieve the expected results within a short period of time. In addition, whenever necessary, the attorneys at our three offices (Osaka, Tokyo, Hiroshima and Nagoya) work together on the same project to allow us to perform our legal services more intensively and flexibly.

SYNERGISTIC EFFECT OF HAVING FOUR OFFICES (OSAKA, TOKYO, HIROSHIMA AND NAGOYA)

With the synergistic effect of having multiple offices in Osaka, Tokyo, Hiroshima and Nagoya, we provide clients with more reliable and powerful support. Clients are now able to receive full service and support at any of these locations, and unified and flexible services are always available even when a case involves more than one area.

HUMAN RESOURCE DEVELOPMENT, KNOWLEDGE/ KNOW-HOW/ INFORMATION SHARING, AND SPECIALIZATION

We hire and train personnel based on our belief that our human resources are the most important assets of our firm. We strive to improve each of our personnel’s abilities through their experience of handling actual cases, while always providing clients with the best legal services under the team working system. All of our attorneys are given opportunities to actively participate in various projects including litigation, where they learn and are trained by working with senior attorneys with proven expertise and experience. They also openly share their opinions, knowledge, know-how and information with each other through mutual collaboration on projects and studies, and by attending regularly scheduled in-house meetings. As legal professions, we are constantly working together to stay abreast of changes in the law, including statutory enactments, amendments and new legal precedents. In response to the increasingly complex and specialized issues and problems facing society, each attorney at our firm seeks to develop new and specialized fields of expertise.

COOPERATION WITH PROFESSIONALS IN RELATED FIELDS

We have built close cooperative relationships with licensed tax practitioners, certified public accountants, judicial scriveners, land and house investigators, real estate appraisers, patent specialists and other professionals in various fields.
We often call upon the expertise of such professionals to provide the most time and cost efficient services to clients. Such wide cooperative network also allows us to collect up-to-date information on a wide variety of legal, business and tax-related matters, so that it contributes to prompt and optimal solution of clients’ problems.

PARALEGALS AND CLERICAL STAFF

We employ paralegals and other clerical staff members with strong legal knowledge and experience. Our staff systematically assists our attorneys in various areas such as investigation and information processing. In addition, our staff members regularly participate in education and training programs to improve their legal knowledge and increase their effectiveness.
