TOURISM

As the Japanese government aims to build and promote a “Tourism Nation,” the tourism-related industries, including hotels and accommodations, travel agencies, golf courses, entertainment/ theme parks and integrated resort (IR) facilities, have now become one of Japan’s key businesses more than ever before. Drawing on specialized knowledge and experiences of our attorneys concerning tourism legal affairs/ administration and related legal issues, some of whom have been seconded to the Japan Tourism Agency, an external bureau of the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism and have served (and are still serving) as members of several committees to the Agency, we are ready to provide, typically, the following legal services:

  1. Legal advice on every day issues within the tourism-related industry and on obtainment of required governmental approvals and permits needed for the tourism businesses;
  2. Legal advice on business acquisition, sale and day-to-day operations of tourist/ resort facilities, hotels, inns or golf courses;
  3. Assistance in establishing legal business structures for the companies conducting tourism business;
  4. Drafting contracts and agreements; and
  5. General legal services in each aspect of legal affairs (e.g. dispute resolution, M&A, business revitalization, labor management, intellectual property and compliance with anti-monopoly law) in relation to the tourism-related industry.
